Brief It is a realtime translation feature that will suggest conflict-free brief forms for words or phrases that you wrote in three or more steno strokes. This feature uses three different sources for the briefs it suggests during realtime:
Reminder Briefs
Reminder briefs appear on green to remind you of what you already have defined in an active dictionary but didn’t use. In the example above, state your name is written in three strokes but already has a one stroke brief that wasn’t used. Bring back a memory? Brief It next time!
Personal Briefs
Brief ideas you’ve collected from friends, forums or seminars can be placed in a personal briefs file. When you write something out, Case CATalyst checks it for a match and then reminds you of personally entered briefs. In the example, Nabumetone is a one-stroke brief you wanted to try. Next time, Brief It!
Suggested Briefs
A yellow background means Case CATalyst noticed that you wrote something out in three or more strokes and suggests a guaranteed conflict-free brief. If you like what you see, if it feels right, then Brief It!
