The Edit version includes nearly all the features as the full version with the major exception of the Translate function. Steno notes must be first  translated on a Full system prior to handing off the transcript to a scopist/editor. 

Signature Feature: AudioSync files which have been recorded by the reporter writing realtime are available to the scopist/editor if those files are included with the handing off of the translated transcript to them.  Click and play synchronized audio while editing or proofreading to clarify the testimony. Replay as many times as you need to get it right.  Slow it down to help you understand a garbled or faint speaker. Speed it up and scroll text while playing audio when you are proofreading for optimum productivity.

Signature Feature: Global Suggest
 It learns as you use it and offers logical and time-saving choices right at your fingertips! If the reporter has written something new or differently than last time with fewer strokes, more strokes, stacked strokes, missing keys, etc., Global Suggests offers a list of choices from which you can choose to eliminate redious retyping.

Scopists can rapidly fill in appearance pages by selecting attorneys from a list rather than typing. Once you enter a firm's or attorney's information the first time, CATalyst keeps it in a handy list. You'll never retype a firm's name, address or attorney's name again!

Hotspots mark the spot!   Reporters often write a special stroke when they need something to be checked. In edit you can see all the Hotspots in one handy list, with  the page and line number and the surrounding line of text. Quickly jump to each occurrence to check what you need or make a correction. Then delete it from your Hotspots list so you know that your “to do” list is done.

Spell check definitions in your own words for quickly checking the ones that always stump you, like stationary or affect.  Of course you could use the regular spell-check, but your own definitions will make more sense to you more quickly.

Hidden Text -  Now you see it, now you don’t!   Notes that a reporter inserted directly in the context of the transcript are indicated by a push-pin icon to make sure they aren’t overlooked.  The hidden notes appear in a list so it’s easy jump from one to the next, make the necessary changes and delete it so you know it’s been handled.

Here’s another fail-safe element to make sure you don’t lose valuable work – even if it was your fault by saying NO by mistake to saving your changes when you close a file. Simply open the automatically backed-up file and it will be just as if you had indeed saved the file. On the other hand, if you intentionally abandoned a file because you made a major editing error and want to start back to your last version, you can still do that too.
